Beijing New Year temple fair

Chinese New Year temple fair, Beijing

January is the coldest month in Beijing. Heating is supplied 24 hours a day, so it is warm inside the houses, but outside it is freezing and windy. A thin sweater is enough if you stay inside, but you need to prepare warm clothes, such as thick sweaters, a down-filled coat, gloves and hat to keep warm outside. It may snow a little in this month. It is very dry.

The skiing season is in full swing. The bone-chilling weather makes January the best month to hit the slopes. If you like skiing, you definitely shouldn't miss the ski resorts in the vicinity of the city

Chinese New Year (the Spring Festival) takes places at the end of this month or early to mid February. There are many cultural activities in the streets, such as lion dances, temple fairs and displays of lanterns. This is the best time of the year to experience authentic Chinese culture. However, the Spring Festival period is the busiest travel time all over the country, when trains and flights are fully booked days before departure. See Chinese New Year Travel Guide.

As for your questions for Beijing tour.

Yes, Jan. is still ok for the tour for the kids as well as the senior citizens. Normally the temperature in day time is much higher than that in night time. There is always Central heating in the hotels, restaurants in Beijing.

I had noticed that you had totally 9 days in China, do you want to visit some other cities as well? Please feel free to contact me at sammi@chinahighlights.net

Is in Beijing already snowy time now? Usually, When is the Snowfall? And how much the lower temperature when the snow is falling? Thank you very much for your information.

Wow yes Beijing is now covered by snow. During this period (January) it snows almost everyday there and the first snow fall can be as early as November. However the temperature usually does not decrease while snowing as the temperature outside is as low as that of a icebox even without snowing. Hope this helps.
