The weather warms up rapidly from generally freezing to generally cool, but it is windy. On average the temperature reaches 11°C (52°F) during the day, and at night drops to -1°C (30°F). Sandstorms are possible.

I checked the Beijing's history temperature in March.it shows the highest is 12 C and the lowest is 0 C. According to my experience, a shirt with an coat or jacket(for spring or autumn) and a jeans is good enough.Hope my answer could help you with the question.
You need a shirt, a cardigan and a coat for moring and evening.
March is the dry season for Beijing, seldon rains; and the average temperature would be around 0-10C /32-50F), so warm jacket is ok.
