Departure: Daily within the flowering season
Blossom Time: April 20 - May 10
You will be picked up at your hotel lobby at around 09:00am and head for Tiananmen Square.
Tian'anmen Square is the largest city square in the centre of Beijing. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history. As the world's largest city square and enduring symbol of China's national pride, it is surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum.
After visiting Tiananmen Square, move on to Forbidden City. Forbidden City is the Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and 1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this 'city within a city'. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are also absolutely fascinating.
Then continue to visit Jingshan Park. Jingshan Park is situated directly north of the Forbidden City. It is a beautiful imperial park. Jingshan Park is famous for its peonies and they have been planted in Jingshan Park since the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). The park has more than 1,000 peonies of some 100 varieties. The best time for viewing peonies inside the park is from late April to mid-May.
Lunch is included. After the tour, you will be returned back to the hotel.
