You will be picked up at your hotel at 08:30am to drive to the Forbidden City. the Forbidden City is the Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and 1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this 'city within a city'. Tian'anmen Square is the largest city square in the centre of Beijing. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history. After lunch, drive to the wharf of the temple of Longevity and start your royal river cruise to Summer Palace. Follow in the wake of The Dowager Empress Cixi from the temple of Longevity to Summer Palace. Commencing at the temple of Longevity and passing by the Ruin of Maizhong Bridge, Changhe Bridge, Changchun Bridge and Xiuyi Bridge, this boat trip finishes at the Summer Palace. Then switch to a smaller boat to sail the beautiful Kunming Lake inside the Summer Palace. Summer Palace is the much-loved summer retreat of the Imperial families. The lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors are set around the lake and rivers in natural harmony. You will be returned to your hotel after the tour.
