You will be picked up at your hotel at 08:30am to drive to the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing, Chongwen District. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. Then drive to the wharf of the temple of Longevity and start your royal river cruise to Summer Palace. Follow in the wake of The Dowager Empress Cixi from the temple of Longevity to Summer Palace. Commencing at the temple of Longevity and passing by the Ruin of Maizhong Bridge, Changhe Bridge, Changchun Bridge and Xiuyi Bridge, this boat trip finishes at the Summer Palace. Then switch to a smaller boat to sail the beautiful Kunming Lake inside the Summer Palace. Summer Palace is the much-loved summer retreat of the Imperial families. The lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors are set around the lake and rivers in natural harmony. After lunch, drive to visit the old Hutong. Take a rickshaw tour through the Hutong - the maze of historic alleyways and traditional courtyard houses and visit a local Hutong family. You will be returned to your hotel after the tour.
