You will be picked up from your hotel by your guide for your one day tour. We will head for Simatai Great Wall, about 120 km northeast of Beijing. This dizzying section of the Great Wall is for the very fit - it's extremely steep, and unrestored, therefore quite challenging in places. The reward for the energetic who are prepared to tackle it is that it's also very beautiful, far less crowded and has some fascinating architecture. Hiking for 3 to 4 hours. After the late lunch, you'll be transferred to your hotel in downtown Beijing.
Note: The Great Wall at Simatai has been closed for major renovation from June 2010. The renovation is estimated to last 3 years. Visitors are suggested to visit other nearby sections of the Great Wall, such as Jinshanling, Gubeikou or Mutianyu.
