Beijing is the first city equipped with services of subways in China with the first subway was open in 1969. Up to now, Beijing has 15 subways (Lines 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14 and 15 are still under construction, Lines 8, 10 and 15 have opened the first section) and one airport express line, which covers most area of central Beijing and some outlying areas and makes the transportation in Beijing greatly convenient. Taking a subway is definitely the fastest transportation in Beijing, because passengers can avoid frequent traffic jams by subway. The price for the subway is 2 yuan for a run except the airport express whose price is 25 yuan. In addition, passengers also can pay by Transportation Smart Card, which also costs 2 yuan a run.
Notices
1. Tickets are issued for one-day use only.
2. Generally speaking, each subway stop has four exits in four directions; passengers need to make sure which one to take by the signs of the main destinations at the crossings of passageways.
3. The square mark of Beijing subway is created in white letters against the blue background; letters from the outside to inside orderly are white G, white D and blue B.
4. Take good care of your personal things; because there might be one or two sneaked into the crowded carriages have on rush hours.
