Kunming Wujiaba International Airport is located in the southeast of Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province. It is one of the most important and the busiest international airports of China. In addition, it is also the gateway hub airport of Southwest China.
Kunming Wujiaba International Airport covers a total area of 286 hectares (707 acres). It is one of China’s first class airports, with a 4E rated airstrip, runways measuring 3.6 km (2.2 miles) in total, and communicational and navigational facilities like ILS, VOR/DME and NDB. Kunming Wujiaba International Airport is good enough for Boeing 747s and Airbus A340s to land on and take off from safely. The airport has 17 boarding lounges. The total area of the terminal building is 76,900 square meters (828,000 square feet). The design passenger throughput capacity is 10.47 million per year. The terminal building is well equipped with service facilities, in which there are business buildings for VIPs, an airport flower market, a Chinese/Western Restaurant, etc. These make Kunming Wujiaba International Airport comparable with other modern airports.

How to Get There:
Tourists can take a taxi or bus to and from the city of Kunming and Kunming Wujiaba International Airport.
By Taxi:
For better taxis, with makes like Santana, Jetta and Hongqi, the starting fare is 8 RMB for the first 3 kilometers (2 miles). After that, passengers have to add 1.8 RMB for each kilometer (1.1 RMB per mile). (After 10pm, the starting fare increases to 9.6 RMB and passengers will be charged 2.7 RMB per kilometer (1.6 RMB per mile) after the starting fare is exceeded.) For second rate taxis, with makes like Xiali, the starting fare is 7 RMB for the first 3 kilometers (2 miles). After that, passengers have to add 1.6 RMB for each kilometer (1.0 RMB per mile). (After 10pm, the starting fare increases to 9.6 RMB and passengers will be charged 2.4 RMB per kilometer (1.5 RMB per mile) after the starting fare is exceeded.)
