How can I book a Beijing hotel online?

Hello, everyone! I am the first time to travel China in August (without an exact date). My first stay will be in Beijing. I know it is a big city. So I want to book my hotel in advance. Can anyone give me some advices on how to book and how to pay them.

Yes, it's not easy to find a cheap place in such a capital city. But it's not a big deal for me. Last time when i got to Beijing, one of my Chinese friends gave me a rented cellphone.
