This will be my first trip to China althought I have backpacked in other countries. Appreciate if anyone could recommend the "Must See" places in Beijing. Am prepared to travel to near by cities but time is limited. Does anyone have experiences/ recommendation of reliable travel agents for tours? Thanks in advance [/size]

You should not miss the highlights of the city, such as the Great Wall-China's legendary defensive line, summer palace-reminant of China's imperial past, and Hutong, etc.   i think Chinahighlights have many fantastic Beijing tours and you can contact them.

I will also be travelling to China mid March for 10 days. I will stay in Beijing for 3 days visiting the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City and shopping. We are planning to take an overnight train to Xian to see the Terra cotta warriors and possibly staying overnight.... Sorry I don't have any recommendations as this will be my first trip to China as well... Good luck and have a safe trip!!

[ul][*]* Great Wall, [/ul] four sections in beijing, from near to far: Badaling, Mutianyu, Simatai, Jinshanling Badaling is the most closest section and popular one, but most tourist and crowded too.Like a new wall, caused goverment re-bulit them Mutianyu is more natural than Badaling, about 1.5hrs driving from downtwon, normally people like to go much. Simatai and Jishanling are the most natural parts, less people and nature view. No cable-cars only claim, can claim from Simatai to Jinshanling... [ul][*]* Forbidden city [*]* Temple of Heaven [*]* Summer Palace[/ul]   That's the places you must go, I am a local Beijingese and been work in local travel agent before, can help you for some hotel/tour arrangements.
