I thought it would be Ciqikou old town. A well preserved ancient town built in Ming and Qing dynasties, is a must see place before taking cruise to the grand Yangtze. It is an hour drive north of Chonqing.

Thank you for your useful information, Tina. yes, the place shuld be absolutely on your list when you planning your trip. I have visited some ancient towns/villages years ago but i would like to say they are not really satisfactory for all being tourism-designed, not " real'.

Hi Arean The photo could be of any street in China. If you ever get the chance to do the Yangtse cruise, grab it with both hands. Go from Wuhan to Chongqing - it takes 6 days and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. When you get to Chongqing you just have to go see the Dazu grottoes - it's a rough car/bus ride but totally mind blowing. I arranged my own tour from Hong Kong to Shanghai with the assistance of China Highlights and saved a packet. The staff are fantastic and will really look after you. Don't die wondering.   Cheers   John
