Is there any tools for learning Chinese?

Hello all, I am the first time to travel China. Athough i can speak fluent english as my second language,  i can not understand one Chinese word. Is there any good ways to learn Chinese? Are there any tools in your site to learn simple Chinese?

 Chinese characters and English does not have anyting to do with each other, so it seems very difficult to pick up this completely  new language. But you do not have to worry that this language is too difficult to learn. Because Chinese, as English to me, may seems difficult, but when you study for a couple of months, you would only find there are so many tips on this language study. Of course, it's not easy to pick it up in the beginning.
