Hello. We are thinking of doing tour, We would like to know something on China tours. Does the tour guide often takes you to many of the factories and shop, taking alot of time at these places, instead of seeing the historical places?. How were the hotels and meals? Any information is more than welcomed.

Hello Griet, not all the tour guides are the same. It will depend on the tour operator you choose. Different tour operator will have different performance. And the tour guide will have different performances. The big and experienced tour operators will not have the guides to lead you shopping and visit some factories. They will have strict regulation in the performance of tour guides. if the tour guide do a good job, they will get more bonus from their company. Athough it is a hard job as a tour operator, i think most of Chinese guides will not do these as you say. They can be trusted.

The hotels in China are no problem if the standard is not so bad. I have been living in some three star hotel in Guilin and find that the hotel in Guilin are clean and comfortable for me.The price is reasonable too. But some traveller feels that the Chinese beds are so hard. For Chinese people has been used to the hard bed.

The food will be no problem in most China's hotel. Most of them will offer Chinese food and western food for foreign culstomers. you will always find what you want to eat in China.

We are a group of 3 couples [ all senior citizens between the ages of 60 to 70 yrs] wanting to travel to China for a week to 10 days holiday .Our intention is to join a group organised by any well established Travel Agency of repute .

(1) The costs need to be all inclusive i.e: inclusive of inland travel /  hotels / all meals / tips etc.

(2) Our entry and exit points will be via HongKong where we plan to stay a few days.

(3)We might consider a cheaper option from India directly  to China (not via HongKong) if air travel directly from India to say Beijing costs less .

Kindly recommend any Agency that organises economical group travel in China whom we can contact over the internet .Any such Chinese travel agency based in India would be of great help .Thanks and our best regards
