Year of Mouse

The annual Chinese Spring Festival and the Year of Mouse is approaching. Every Chinese is expecting to come home to celebrate with family. It is the Year of Mouse in Chinese luner year. There are 12 animals that were used to remember the year. They are mouse, cow, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog and pig. Different year will have different meaning.

Do you think mouse might be rat ,cow might be ox ,rabbit might be hare,chicken might be cock and pig might be boar in the terms of the lunar year?

It is a interesting question. But i think it is right to use the general one. There are so many synonymous words in English.
