China's Transport Department announced the 2006-Spring Festival Transport Peak period, which is from 14, January to 22, February, lasting 40 days. The 40-day period is a terrible transport season, especially for train journey so you are adviced to avoid train trip.

It definitely true. I have experienced this occasion for several times. You won't  have any idea of how large China's population is before you go to the railway station, especially in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Beijing, Zhengzhou, etc. Yet it's really your first choice to go to the railway stations in this period if you are interested in watching people. Good luck to all of you!
