send a gift to China?

I want to send a postcard (snail mail) from UK to my E-pal in Baoding China. How do I address it, and will it get there? She is expecting her first baby, also, and I would like to send a gift. Is it possible to send a package there and have it arrive safely? She is not too sure of the Postal System there, herself! Confusing info online, too. Hope anyone can help me.

It is the same case within your country. Just write her address clearly using the English format, pinyin is ok. Most of the postman is trained to recognise the english address. Be sure to write the zip code and the Chinese name of your friend correctly.  And track your postcard if possible! Good Luck to you   Stev
