You are in Luck! Later this month our website community will have on-line Chinese classes for FREE, with native chinese speakers as on-line tutors. The curiculum will be written my a forigner that knows the easiest way for westerners to learn chinese. It will also have a weekly "podcast" which will introduce each lesson! Yeah, it is really good news for us. Knowing simple Chinese sentences will be of great importance when traveling China, for i have learned that in China, particularly in some remote areas, very few people can speak English and language barrier will prove to be a big problem when you tour there. I kinow there is one on one Chinese-learning programs but they are usually very expensive and out of reach of many. Hopefully, you have that important programs in your sites.
