Experienced traveler but new to China - advice?

Hello -

My American family of four (two active adults, two teenagers) would like to see Beijing and Guilin. We are coming from Seoul-Incheon, where we are spending the summer, and we'll have about 8 days in China.

Can anyone offer advice on how to book a three-city flight (Incheon-Beijing-Guilin-Incheon)? What airline would be best?

Do you think an organized tour is the best way to go, like with China Highlights or similar organization? Usually when we travel, we coordinate everything ourselves, but this may not be possible in this case - I don't really know.

Thank you for reading this and responding!

Hi Glenn,

  1. I would reommend you to book your international flight to China seperately in Korea  and book your China internal flight with a Chinese provider because that way you can receive the best deal.
  2. You may let your travel agency to handle your China arrangement including internal flight tickets, hotels, tour guides, driver and programs.... because China is VERY much different from most part of the world, few people speaks English, few English signs, It is better to have a guide who speaks both Chinese and English. I do recommend you to use Chinahighlights.com because they provides good customer service to English speaking clients.
  3. If you decided, however to be an independent traveler, I would recommend you to book your domestic flight tickets with elong.com, ctrip.com or Chinahighlights.com, Chinahighlights.com

Wish you enjoy your China trip.
