Friends has being talking about White Water Rafting in Yangshuo, and they all want to go again if possible, some of them has being there twice. With great expectation, I went there too, and followed by another trip to the newly founded drafting rive, Long Jing he (Dragon's Neck River). It is about 1 hour drive from Yangshuo, the last part of the drive was pretty bumping. Dayuan forestry center driftage area is in Dayuan forestry center, Xingpin town of Yangsuo county, and it is just about 30 kilometers from Yangsuo county or 5 kilometers from the famous Li liver. Drift water area is 4 kilometers long, and it takes 2.5 hours to finish. The drift fall reaches to 220 meters. Unlike other whiter water rafting, this river is actually not wild enough for rafting, but they build many dams along the river to hold the water. When they open the water from the dams, the water can be VERY WILD. I highly recommend those who will spend some time in Yangshuo go there and experience this breath-taking rafting. It cost 160 per person, they have bus leave for this place from Yangshuo daily. You may also ask your travel agency to arrange a car to go there. Some times, your boat will be upside down, but as long as you have a better control of the boat, you will not. Even you got upside down, that will be fine, you will be all safe.
Some one on this boat has fell into the river and this girl is about to fall too.
This 2 guys knew how to keep their raft in balance by keeping their center of gravity at the back end of the raft.

I've been there once in autumn year 2004. It was really exciting and unforgetable cause I wetted my beloved wallet and lost some important cards during the trip. But it worth it! It was really a nice trip as Mathew sited. You can't miss it if you are planning to have an adventure in yangshuo. But prepare youself a water-proof bag to avoid my story happening again!
