Hello Kensf, thanks for you support for our forum of China highlights.
Guilin was famous for its beautiful scenery and unique minority cultures. The secenery, perhaps you have heard something about it, is out of one's imagination. I had been with the tourists from all over the world for so many times each time they told me that before coming to a place they were always searching for some pictures which they said were mostly commercial and man-made ones. Those pictures often did not tell the truth and then cheated one's eyes. But, Guilin they said, was an exception. They said they never expected such a beautiful place under the haven, and pictures were never able to show Guilin's real beauty .
In a ship, you go down along the river and what you could enjoy is the most beautiful and the most typical part of the limestone scenery of China. Good luck.
Hi:Kensf, Thank you for contacting China Highlights regarding your travel inquire.I am a tour guide of China Highlights.Acoording to my experience ,most of tourists regards Li River Cruise to the highlight of Guilin trip.
A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery there's something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Between spectacular limestone peaks you'll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.
