Oct 1 National Day - flying from Beijing to Guilin

Hi,

It sounds like it's a bad idea to be in Beijing for the first week of October, but how is it in smaller cities like Guilin? We're planning on flying from Beijing to Guilin on October 1st, and heading directly to Yangshuo. Is this a bad idea? Will Guilin and Yangshuo be overloaded with tourists at this time? Should we expect issues at the airport in Beijing? Will flying out of Guilin to the US on Oct 5th be affected?

Any suggestions are welcome!Thank you in advance!

It is a good idea to fly to Guilin, it is not as crowded as it in Beijing. You could stay in Guilin one night, one night in Longshen Terraced Fields where is very quiet, two night in Yangshuo, small but very funny place.  Issue your air-tickets even months before should be better. Your route like this, Beijing-Guilin(a night)-Longsheng(a night)-Yangshuo(2 ghits)-back to Guilin airport
