Longsheng Rice Terraces in October?

Message started by frank272829

Hi everyone,

We will be in Guilin 3rd week of October. Has anyone visited rice terraces during this time of year being that harvest may be over? Is it worth long drive and if so, should we stay overnight in Ping An or do as day trip from Guilin?

Thank you!

Hi,
It is a great idea to visit rice terraces during the time. It is not over till about 8th October. To be there it takes about only 2.5 hours driving. It is worthy because lots of people like to enjoy the sight there.  A day trip should be ok.

Thanks, Ken. Have you been to the rice terraces in Longsheng? What do you think of it? It’s said that there are two scenic areas—Ping An and Jinkeng. Do you think which one is better? Should I choose one of them or both of them? I only have two days in Longsheng.

Thank you!

Hi,

Actally, there are two scenic areas--Pingan and Jingkeng, all  close to each other. I have been there just May this year. Maybe late Oct. is a good chioce since you should be exited  for the charming scenery. Jingken is better as my considering. By the way, I am in Guilin during this year and I should offer you for more information. Pls. feel free to contact with me. edwinlc@126.com

hi

The best season to tour Longsheng Rice Terraces is May and June.
