Guilin to Yangshuo

Hi,

My girlfriend gets sick easily on any boat; thus the Li River cruise is probably out. We won't arrive in Guilin (by plane) until around noon, and we would like to spend the night in Yangshuo. 1st: Is the bus station near the airport? 2nd: Taking the express bus that afternoon (if there is one)would we be able to get to Yangshuo in the afternoon? 3rd:Riding the bus will we be able to see the beautiful scenery that you would see by boat?

The bus station is  about  50 minutes from the airport.  It is about 5o minutes from airport to the bus station and about 90 minutes from bus station to Yangshuo.  So you could  count your  minutes.   Not  possible to see the scenery that you could see by boat, otherwise,  boat is not necessary . Go and take boat, you will be surprised.

Take bus from airport Y20 to Guilin Airline Building (translation might not be too correct). Walk along the main road about 10-15min to the Guilin train station (taxi Y7-8). Just outside the station there are buses going direct to Yangshuo for Y14 (if you want, can bargain til Y10-12). If you go to bus station instead of train station, walking distance is about 30min and bus cost Y17.

Commercial  boat from Guilin to Yanshuo about 5 hrs cost Y300-400. Goes from Guilin-Yangdi-Xingping-Yangshuo. Best part is Yangshuo-Xingping. I suggest you take bus from Guilin to Yangshuo.  3-5min from Yangshuo bus terminal is West St.  Can just walk in and book the rooms in the area. Many to choose from. No need to pre-book from internet.

Next day can take bus from Yangshuo-Yangdi (1+ hr, around Y7-8), can engage a bamboo raft (Y100) for 2-2.5 hr 'cruise' to Xingping. Since your girlfriend get seasick, I suggest you trek the route instead. About 3-4 hr. Can see the same scenery as raft. There is a fishing village (entrance Y5) from Xingping that is famous. However, the village head took more than Y200k and left the village. Villages are angry and there are some internal  conflict among them at this moment. So you might dock at fishing village but might have problem going in. Check before you want to go.
