Hi. I'm a 26 year old Englander planning on catching the train from Chengdu up to the Tibetan plateau, and then down again into Nepal.
I plan to arrive in Chengdu, China (roughly) on the 20th October 2009 so as to organise a permit/ train ticket to depart a few days later for Lhasa.
From what I understand it's much easier (and cheaper!) to sort stuff if you're in a group, so if anyone would be game for making either or both legs of the trip together then that'd be great.
Also, if anyone has any tips regarding organising train tickets/ Tibet permits/ travel from Lhasa to Tibet, I would really appreciate it!
