Is it possible to see Hangzhou in a day trip from Shanghai? My working hours make it impossible to stay overnight. I heard there was an express train which does the trip in 2 hours... does anyone know what time these train leave or where where I can find a train timetable?
It is possible to visist the major sites in Hangzhou within a day. The trains with T prefix are express trains. If you don't mind getting up early, you will be able to catch train T741 which departs at 0630 and arrives at 0808. T746(1700-1840) and T748(2051-2235) are not bad choice for your return train. There are still some other trains available.
