I am planning a trip to China to study Chinese medicine. I'm currently studying TCM in the USA. I have to decide which school I want to attend, and I also want to spend some time in a great place. Friends recommend Beijing, Shanghai, hangzhou and Chengdu. I can choose between the above-mentioned cities or any better place on your suggestions.

There is another choice for you to consider, Guilin Chinese Hosiptal. I know that there were some Germans, Americans studied there before, you may want to check their web sites, http://www.glzyy.com/ Good luck.

The prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine should be your choice.the beijing-based university is the earliest traditional Chinese medical institution in our country to admit foreign students. for further information, you can check http://www.bjucmp.edu.cn/english/index.htm.

I've lived in Hangzhou and definately reccommend it. How long will you be there?   I"m currently in a five element school and am planning on takign my classmates ona trip to china next summer to study in a tcm clinic, tai qi, etc for 2 weeks. if anyone has reccomendations on where to go, aside form the normal beijing, shanghai and hagzhou circuit, IU"d really apprecite it. I think my classmates are not so interested in doign needling, but in learning other aspects of pulse diagnosis, seeing herbalists and other types of energy work (we've not yet studied gua sha or tui na)   please email me with suggestions or any contacts you'd suggest at  kang33@gmail.com   thanks to all! Shannon
