Shanghai Trip

Going to Shanghai for a week of business in April 2006.  Plan t ostay a few days after that to do some tourist things around the area.  Now the question :)

I was born and lived in Taiwan until age 10 (that was 26 years ago).  This will be my first trip to mainland China.  Wife (Caucasian) plans to come with me.  We have a 7 years old daughter (who speaks some Mandarin Chinese and goes to our local Chinese language school on weekends).

Would you take the 7 years old on this trip?

Welcome you, your wife and your lovely daughter! This is a site featuring independent travel, which means you will travel with your family exclusively with a driver and English-speaking guide(Your daughter are welcome to use her Mandarin Chinese). Shanghai is China's most vibrant and diverse city. It is a symbol of modern and rising China. It is also one of the most popular tourist cities in China. Attractions inlcude Yu Garden, the Bund, Nanjing Road and area around the city, such as Xitang, Zhujia jiao, Zhouzhuang. If time permit, a tour to Suzhou and Hangzhou are also recommended. Classical tours are listed on the following page. http://www.chinahighlights.com/shanghai/tours.htm
