There are two ways to take the Yangtze Cruise, downstream(Chongqing-Wuhan) and upstream(Wuhan-Chongqing). Chongqing is located much father from Shanghai than Wuhan. Wuhan is about 1235 km away from Shanghai There are maily two options for you getting to Wuhan from Shanghai.  by trainThere daily train runs between the two cities and the prices depending  the train condition and kind of seats. Generally, there are four kinds of seats in Chinese trains, hard seat, soft seat, hard sleeper and soft sleeper. The hard seat it the cheapest but least comfortable. The soft sleeper, though much more expensive, is very comfortable. The train journey will take you around 19 hours. I will give a train running between the two cities for reference:  Train Number: k122Price: hard seat: 154 yuansolf seat: 243 yuanhard sleeper: 281yuansolf sleeper:  429 yuan.  note, the above mentioned information is only for reference and please check at the local train stations before moving there.  If you take the train travel, we advice you avoid the hard seat, for the hard seat compartments are often very crowded and noisy.  by air: Air travel is much conveneint and comfortable. flights from Shanghai to Wuhan cost about 810 yuan and the journey only takes you 1.5 hours.
