Hi people!
I am going to India in october and working my way up to nepal then (hopefully) in to Tibet and then getting that awesome train from Lhasa to Beijing....
The problem i have found is that It is impossible to enter Tibet without a travel guide and a special permit thing!!
That said, there are flights from Kathmandu in Nepal to Lhasa. I was wondering if it would be possible to get a flight to Lhasa from Nepal then get the train from Lhasa to Beijing without having the special permit and without the use of a guide?!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We leave for india in less than a month and i am really starting to panic that we wont get to see Tibet at all.

I am sorry to tell you that traveling Tibet without a special permit is not allowed that means you an not enter the region without that document. You have to ask help from a travel company in assisting you to obtain the Tibet Travel Permit. It's flexible whether you want to use a guide in Tibet. The benefit of traveling with a guide is that he/she can maximize your safety and help you get the most out of the experience.
hope this help
