Hi,
I am currently planning a tour through Tibet commencing in Kathmandu. I will be travelling there alone and then joining a group.
This  is my first time travelling and I would love any advice about how early I should arrive in Kathmandu to get used to the time zone/climate etc. before going to Tibet?

if you have any other advice/handy tips it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Dear friend,

It will be ok for you to travel Tibet from Katmandu by plane. But there is not flight everyday from Katmandu to Lhasa Before you come to Tibet, please make sure that you have had a Travel Confirmation Letter and a Tibet Travel Permit from Chinese travel Agency. China Highlights will apply it for you if you book with us. Then you have to get the visa which is applied in the Consular Section of Chinese Embassy in Katmandu. Because the Embassy did not open every day, you need to arrive 3 days before your departure to Tibet.

The weather of Tibet can be found in our website: Tibet Weather  you will find useful information here. It will be better for you to arrive in Katmandu several days before you go to Tibet.
