The Shanghai Airline will commence a new air route to connect the Alatai Region in north Xinjiang with the capital-Urumqi. The opening of the new service will greatly benefit travelers who want to explore the vast north Xinjiang, particularly the Kanas Lake, which is recognized as the icon of north Xinjiang for its tranquil, least touched surroundings and the prestine waters.

The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is planning to expand the Kanas National Park around 10 times. The national park is expected to replace America's Yellowstone National Park, covering an area of about 9000 square kilometers, to become the world's largest.
