Despite the high temperature of 61 degrees Celsius, shown on the giant thermometer, on July 30, many tourists were attracted to the sweltering Flaming Mountains on the northern edge of the Turpan Basin in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Flaming Mountains are red sandstone hills, and have become a very famous tourism resort.
