Travel Reviews on Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel, Shanghai

The hotel is a high rise building next to Zhongshan Park in Shanghai. My room was on 45th floor of the hotel and the view of Shanghai was breathtaking. The rooms were decently sized, had good furniture and amenities. The bathroom was modern with motorized curtains and a glass wall. I could enjoy the outside view from the bathtub. The hotel had good restaurants and the availability of Indian food prepared by an Indian Chef was a Jewel in the Crown. I had heard about the hardship regarding the food in China but the Indian food helped me to sidetrack this apprehension.

Bed was amazing with large room. Executive lounge has appetizers in the evening, enough for a meal, so I was able to save on dinner. Also got free drinks, not a bad deal. Drawback was not close to Bund or Pedestrian Street.

It may not be the fanciest or newest Renaissance, but it's still fancy and new enough to impress. The food in the two restaurants however, is very good. The fitness center is not run by the hotel, but the hotel guests have access to it. There is lots of equipment and an indoor pool. The mens locker room is somewhat dodgy. I for sure would not shower there.

The Hotel is perfectly located in terms of public transport options, shopping, eating out and the like. It is located just across the street from the Shongshan Park Metro station that is served by lines 2, 3 and 4. However, one does not need to cross the busy road as the hotel sits on top of the Cloud 9 shopping complex that is also connected to the station. There is signage leading the traveler from the Metro platform to the hotel via escalators. Moreover, Zhongshan Park is also a major public bus hub, with connections to all parts of the city.

We stayed at the Renaissance hotel for almost a week. The rooms were good and we certainly felt like it was value for money. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is clean, and the hotel lobby/facilities are decent. Hotel is positioned in a convenient location, with underground access directly to the metro. It is right next to a major shopping centre which makes for easy access to ameneties. Service was just average.

Location not greatest, but close to subway so you can get around. Our room was one of the standard ones and I must say it was excellent. The bed was huge, the bathroom was great. The views from the bars and restaurants on the 25th/26th floors are very good.

The Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel is well appointed with friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms. The club level is very nice with full breakfast buffet. Unfortunately the food is placed at 6 o'clock, service starts at half past 6. By that time the hot food has become cold.
