Centrally located, the Universal Hotel overlooks the famous Li River, markets, shopping centre and is close to the Sheraton. Breakfast is too Chinese.

Rooms were clean, river view and the location is quite nice just across from the river and close to the pedestrian street. Overall it's OK.

The location was great, overlooking Liberation Bridge, down the road was a restaurant strip, one Italian Pizzaria called Amani's was great for dinner and breakfast was ok. Room was average and bed hard.

Staff did not speak much english. The lobby was clean but the rooms could have been cleaner for a hotel in this price range. A little upset that they only would offer me a chinese breakfast and not an American one. But the location it was great. Across from the river a couple of blocks to the Walk Street with lots to see and places to eat.

The hotel is in a very good location, right on the river in the middle of town close to pedestrianised shopping streets. The rooms were basic 3-star rooms, but not expensive. Breakfast OK. Overall worth the money.

We traveled to Guilin in August during our vacation. We chosed this hotel because the sightseeing near the Jiefang Bridge on Li River was so amazing. It was lucky that this hotel just on the end of this bridge. The hotel was OK and the staff were very friendly.

My sister and I booked a standard room for our trip. It's good value for money. Price reasonalble. Room is clean. Beds hard as it's always the case in China. We had a good stay here.

I like the river-view room I stayed in this hotel. It's comfortable and quiet. But service was so so.
