Yangtze River Cruise - Yangtze 2

In the end of 2012 my colleague and I took a Yangtze river cruise from Chongqing city. It lasted 4 days and the ship name is Yangtze 2, a 5 star ship.

We boarded the ship at Chaotianmen pier in the afternoon on Nov. 15. Please make sure don’t go to the pier too early, the dinner is not included into the quote, you need to have it by yourselves. You could check in after 17:00 pm. As we arrived there early and we have to wait in the lobby, it was so boring for us there! The ship set off at night, it sailed smoothly, I did not notice when it set off.
On the second day, we visited Fengdu. Fengdu is where the devil lives, according to Chinese legend. They advocate the truth and the kindness. People can’t harm other persons, he need to be devoted to his parents. Otherwise he will be punished even though he died. We spent half day to visit there. In the afternoon, there is an optional for travel. We chose to have a rest on the ship.

On Nov. 17 we go through three gorges and we change another small ship to visit lesser three gorges. It was sunny day that day, it was suitable for traveling and taking photos. The colorful scenery was beautiful and you will have a chance to see the monkeys. I saw it on a stone. It’s lucky!



At night we go through three gorge dam, it lasted long time and it’s noisy, I didn’t sleep well.
On Nov. 18, we arrive in Yichang port in the morning and we took all of our luggage to leave the ship. Took a bus to visit three gorge dam and it took about 1 hour for driving. We visit some spots and the tour guide explained the function and influence of the dam to us. After visiting we will be transferred to the port, the whole trip was finished.


The original port is Taohuacun port which is far from the city center and it is hard to find a taxi. The fee of transportation is too expensive. Fortunately the ship company changed the plan, they stopped at Yichang port and it is easy to take a taxi to get to the railway station or the airport. That was good thing for us.
In my opinion, this trip was not more interesting than other city tours, but it made me comfortable. If you just need to have a rest, it is a good choice for relaxation to have this trip!
