Lijiang Ancient Town Video
The Ancient town of Lijiang was built on the flat land at the foot of the Yulong Snow Mountain; it was first established by Naxi people in the Song Dynasty, and has a history of almost a thousand years. Since then, it has been the political, cultural, and educational center in this area. For a time, it was an important trading center for business between Yunnan and Tibet, China and India. The town flourished as a trading post on the Silk Road for tea, known as the "Tea-Horse Ancient Path". Merchants from far and wide would travel the route with their horses loaded with tea.
