Zhouzhuang is an ancient town of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. It lies between Shanghai and Suzhou. It takes about 1.5hours drive from shanghai to zhouzhuang and 40 minutes drive from Suzhou. Zhouzhuang has about 1000 households who are living in the old dwelling quarters built in the Ming, Qing dynasties and the early Republic of China. Among the many old houses, the mansion of Shen Wansan (Shen Ting) is the most famous. Built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) as the private residence of a wealthy merchant family, the huge mansion clearly illustrates the lifestyle of the rich at that time. The whole complex is of the Qing architectural style
