It continues to warm up, and the temperature keeps on rising. The weather is generally dry and sunny. The average low and high temperature is respectively at 2℃ (36°F) and 16℃ (61°F) in April, and 9℃ (48°F) and 23℃ (73°F) in May. Prepare overcoat and thick sweater.
Summer
Summer is from June to September. It is temperate and relatively wet. 60% of the annual rainfall happens in summer, but it does not rain much. During the night the temperature drops and it feels cool. The hottest month is July, with the average low and high temperature respectively at 17℃ (63°F) and 28℃ (82°F). Wear any summer clothes such as shorts, shirts, and skirts, but also prepare a light coat and long pants when it is cooler in the evening or outside of the city area.
Autumn
Autumn is from October to November. It is cool, dry and sunny. The average low and high temperature is respectively at 2℃ (36°F) and 15℃ (59°F) in October, and -7℃ (19°F) and 6℃ (23°F) in November. Frost begins to appear in autumn. Prepare sweater and jacket, but also long-sleeve shirts when it is warmer during the day.
Winter
Winter is from December to February. It is very cold, dry and windy. Snowfall is frequent, mostly during the night. During the day it is usually sunny. The temperature is usually below 0℃ (32°F). The coldest month is January, and the lowest temperature could drop to -23℃ (-9°F). The average low and high temperature is respectively at -14℃ (7°F) and -2℃ (28°F) in December, -16℃ (3°F) and -4℃ (25°F) in January, and -12℃ (10°F) and 1℃ (34°F) in February. Wear warm winter clothes, such as down jackets, thick sweater, hats, scarves and gloves. A mask is advisable to protect your nose from the dry and cold air.

It will be quite cold in November in Shanxi Province, especially in Wutaishan area. You'd better take your warm coats. Sometimes it snow in November.
