1. Tourist (L) Visa Application

Mailed applications are acceptable. However,it will take a much longer time than going to the Visa Office of the Embassy. Generally, it will take two weeks to process a mailed application. You may submit the application to the Visa Office of the Embassy; if you cannot go in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to transact your application affairs. No appointment is required. Or you can make an online appointment for Chinese Visa Application on the website: http://211.100.27.25/vacisyy/mainMenu.html Once the Visa Office receives your application, it will be typed into the computer, and you can inquire the rush progress on the website.

Documents Required

Except for a neatly filled out L visa form, applicants also need to provide following materials:

  • Passport with at least 6 months validity and at least on blank visa page;
  • A round trip air ticket with validity;
  • Booking hotel in China;
  • As for the family visiting (L) visa: please provide the evidence of your relationship in China and a round trip air ticket;
  • Provide schedule in Denmark (if possible);
  • Two 2 inch passport style photos;

Fee and Payment Method

All visa fees are paid when picking up the visas, and you don’t need to pay on submitting your application. Since April 1st, 2011, non-cash payment has been introduced (cash will not be accepted any more) by the Consular Section. Applicants need to bring your debit card or cheque to pay for the consular fees when collecting passports, visas or legalized documents.

  • If you want to collect your visa at the same day (rush service), you need to submit the application materials before 11am. It will cost you 250 DKK (excluding the visa fee).
  • If you want to collect your visa at the second or the third day (express service), you need to pay 150 DKK (excluding the visa fee) as the service charge.
  • If you forwarding your visa applications by post, rush or express service are not provided for you.
  • Those who are Non-Danish passport holders need to submit your residence permit or social security card issued by the relevant Danish authority and its copies when applying visa to China.

Processing Time

If you forward your visa applications by post, the visa processing time will be about 15 working days. Please check if you have prepared all the documents before you forward the application by post. If you do not get the visa (passport) back within 15 days, you may call, email or fax to the consular section to check. When sending the email or fax, applicants are requested to inform their passport numbers, or birthday and other related information.

Applicants had better to apply for visa 20 to 60 days prior to the trip to China. If applied 3 months before your trip, your visa will probably expire, and then you have to apply for a new visa at your own cost.

  • A single entry L visa is usually effective from the date of issuing 3 months.
  • A twice-entry of validity usually lasts three to six months.
  • The longest of a tourist visa lasts 90 days.
  • Two L visa tourists for each last no more than 60 days.

Visa Pick-Up

Visas can be picked up on or after the pick-up date specified in the receipt. The receipt must be presented. Applicants can pay and pick up visas themselves or send an entrusted person or travel agency with the receipt. Or you can get your visa by post if you forward your visa to the visa office.
