1. Tourist (L) Visa Application
Mailed applications are not acceptable and will be returned. You may submit the application to the Visa Office of the Embassy in Norway; if you cannot go in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to transact your application affairs. No appointment is required. Interview may be required by the visa officer if necessary.
Documents Required
Except for a neatly, truly and completely filled out L Visa Application Form for the P.R. China, applicants also need to provide following materials:
- Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and at least two blank visa pages inside;
- A round trip air ticket with validity;
- Booking hotel information in China；
- As for the family visiting (L) visa: please provide the evidence of your relationship in China and a round trip air ticket;
- Provide your schedule in Norway (if possible);
- One recent passport photo (2 inches X 2 inches) attached on the Visa Application Form, with white background, full-face front view, and no hat. Either black & white or color is acceptable
- If you wish to travel to the Tibet Autonomous Region, an approval notice from China Tibet Tourism Bureau is required (Telephone number for the Tourism Bureau: 86-891-6834313, fax number: 86-891-6834632).
Fee and Payment Method
All Norway visas vary from the number of entries or duration of stay.
- A single-entry L visa will cost NOK 500;
- A twice-entry L visa for NOK 750;
- A 6-month multiple-entry L visa for NOK 1000;
- A 12-month multiple-entry L visa for NOK 1500;
- Group L Visa will cost NOK 400 per Person.
Please make the check payable to Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy.All fees should be paid at the time of pick-up with debit cards or cheques.
Rush service should be confirmed in advance through appointment before application. Appointment letter should be sent to the following email address: visa@chinese-embassy.no, consular@chinese-embassy.no.
Processing Time
- The regular processing time is 4 working days (e.g. submission on Monday, pick up on Thursday).
- Extra rush service: besides the visa fee, an additional fee of NOK 150 will be charged per visa.
- Express service: besides the visa fee, additional fee of NOK 250 will be charged per visa. (You should make an appointment with the embassy before submitting your application).
Visa Pick-Up
Visas can be picked up on or after the pick-up date specified in the receipt. The receipt must be presented. Applicants can pay and pick up visas themselves or send an entrusted person or travel agency with the receipt.

- Documents that evidences your financial capability of covering the traveling expenses in China;
- The air, train or ship tickets to the heading country/region after leaving China (when necessary).

Processing Time
The normal processing is 4 working days. The express service is 2–3 working days. The rush service is one working day. Extra fees are charged for express and rush service.
Visa Pick-Up
You should go to the visa office of embassy in person or entrust someone else to pick up your visa on the pick-up date specified in the receipt. When collecting the visa, the receipt must be showed to consular officials.
