1. Tourist (L) Visa Application
Mailed applications are not acceptable. Generally applicants should appear in the Visa Office of Chinese Embassy in person with required documents, and may be required to answer questions from the visa officer.
Note: both Pakistan diplomatic passport holders and official passport holders are exempted from a visa to Mainland China for 30 days, to Hong Kong and Macao for 14 days respectively.
Documents Required
A neatly filled out Visa Application Form and a recently-taken color photo (30mm×40mm in size) to be affixed to it, original passport (with at least 6 months validity and at least two blank visa page), photocopies of the first 2 pages (containing personal information) of your passport and recent Chinese visas if any; if visit China for the first time, please provide your local police character/clearance certificate. In addiction, foreign nationals for tourism or family visit should guarantee their expenses in China and provide the following documents: your bank statement and round-trip tickets; invitation letter from your direct relative to visit; marriage certificate or relationship documents (original and photocopy attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad); photocopy of the inviter’s identity documents such as passport, identity card or residence booklet, etc.
Note: for tourism in China, Pakistani nationals are encouraged to join a tourist group (more than 5 people), which should be arranged through a qualified local travel agency.
Fees and Payment Method
Diplomatic and Official passport holders of the third countries as well as all Pakistani ordinary passport holders are exempted from visa fees. Visa fees for U.S and other country’s ordinary passport holders are as the form showed below:

Processing Time
- The regular processing time is 4 working days (e.g. submission on Monday, pick up on Thursday).
- Express service: 2–3 working days processing, extra Rs.1, 400 will be charged per visa.
- Same day rush service: additional fee of Rs. 2,000 for 1 working day processing.
Visa Pick-Up
Visas can be picked up on or after the pick-up date specified in the receipt. The receipt must be presented. The detailed information please contacts the Embassy for confirmation.
2. Where to Apply
You need to choose the Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate-General which holds consular jurisdiction over the state where you live. See figure below. Addresses, etc. follow the office hours info.
Office Hours
The embassy and the consulates generally have the different visa section office hours, but they are all closed on Saturdays and Sundays and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, International Labor Day, Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese National Day.
