1. Tourist (L) Visa Application

You may submit the application to the Visa Office of the Embassy. If you cannot go in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to transact your application affairs. No appointment is required. Mailed application is accepted. You should provide the self-addressed, pre-paid return envelope with enough postage if you apply your visa by mail.

Documents Required

A passport with validity for 6 more months and at least 1 blank Visa Page, a completed Visa Application Form, a recently-taken two-inch half-length photo (full-facedwithout cap) and itinerary of your tour

Note: Rush service is available but extra fees will be charged. 1–2 working day processing will charge extra fees of 90 PGK. 3–4 working days processingwill charge extra fees of 60 PGK.

Processing Time

  • The regular processing time is 5 working days (e.g. submission on Monday, pick up on Friday ).
  • Express service: 3–4 working days processing, 60 PGK will be charged for per visa.
  • Rush service: 1–2 working day processing, 90 PGK will be charged for per visa.
  • Mail application needs to pay for the envelope and 10 PGK mailed service fees.

Visa Pick-Up

You should go to the visa office of embassy in person to pick up your visa on the pick-up date specified in the receipt. The receipt must be presented. If the receipt is lost, you should submit written state to explain your special condition.

2. Where to Apply

You need to go to the Visa Office of the Embassy to apply your visa. There is no consulate of China in Papua New Guinea.

Holidays Schedule in 2011

The embassy will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, including New Year’s Day, Chinese Spring Festival, Good Friday, Easter Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Queen's Birthday,Mid-Autumn Festival, Independence Day, China's National Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
