1. Tourist (L) Visa Application

You may submit the application to the Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate-General which holds consular jurisdiction over the district where you live in. If you cannot go in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to transact your application affairs. No appointment is required. Mailed applications are not acceptable. You should apply for a visa about one month before your trip date into China.

The Chinese Embassy in U.A.E. only accepts visa applications of the U.A.E. citizens and expatriates who reside in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and the rest of the Emirates should apply for the visa in the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai.

Documents Required

  • A completed visa application form;
  • A original passport (which must be valid for more than 6 months and has more than two blank visa page left, and a passport copy);
  • A copy of the U.A.E. residence visa (which should be valid for more than 6 months) for non-U.A.E. citizen.
  • A passport style photograph;
  • A No-objection letter from the applicant's company stating his or her position,monthly or yearly salary;
  • A copy of the round-trip air ticket, hotel reservation, an invitation letter and personal bank statement (if necessary).

Fee and Payment Method

  • In China embassy in U.A.E.,visa fee is payable in cash on the day of application. Credit cards, money order or bank checks are not acceptable.
  • In China Consulate in Dubai, applicants can pay for fee by UionPay, Visa, MasterCard, JCB or Diners Card. Cash payment is not accepted.

Processing Time

The regular processing time is 4 working days. For express service, it takes 2-3 working days, and extra fees of 90 AED will be charged. There is no the same day pick-up service.

Visa Pick-Up

China Embassy in Abu Dhabi requires applicants to pay visa fees through National Bank of Abu Dhabi. After you submit visa application, you will get the Pick Up Form and Cash Deposit Slip, then you can pay the fees in any branch of National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

When collecting the visa, the pick-up form and the Cash Deposit Slip must be presented. Applicants can pay and pick up visas themselves or send an entrusted person or travel agency with the receipt. If the pickup form is lost, the passport holder must come in person with his/her own valid ID to pick up the the visa.
