My friends want to take the train from Beijing to Urumqi at the end of June and want to know if it is better to travel on the train on the weekend or during the week? Does one have an advantage over the other? They are American citizens. Will there be any difficulty getting tickets there? (the fast train) They will be traveling with two children. Any suggestions?

There are two T trains every day from Beijing to Urumqi. It takes about 35 hours at least and the cost of the soft sleeper is about CNY880/US$S$142 per person. It is not easy to buy the train tickets.

You could go to Liyuan theater(梨园剧场） for watching Beijing Opera. They perform from 19:30pm to 21:00pm every day. The address is No. 175 Yongan road, Xuanwu district(宣武区永安路175号), the theatre is in Qianmen Jianguo Hotel.

Hi, im planning a 2 weeks trip starting from hongkong to macau to guilin to jiuzhaigou to beijing. I need a tour for all those cities except for beijing. Could you estimate the price for the tour? Hi Fellycia, 2 weeks is enough to cover all these cities, and it is not fully packed. If you have interest, you can add Chengdu or Xian into the tour. What do you think? My daughter and I will be visiting Beijing at the end of May for 3 weeks and would like to take in a short trip to see the Daxing Watermelon Festival which I believe is on 28.05.13. We would not require a guide, just transportation please. I am, unfortunately, confined to a powered wheelchair, the approximate dimensions of which are as follows: 76cm wide, 112cm long, 130cm high and weighs 114kg. It does not fold up and I am unable to transfer from it to a seat and so would need to travel in the wheelchair.Are there accessible taxis or is public transport accessible? If such a trip is possible, what sort of costs might be involved please- we have a reasonably limited budget. Any further information that you are able to offer, such as airport transfers, general accessibility in Beijing, etc., would be most welcome. Thank you.
