We are a couple from India and would be visiting Shanghai around last week of May. While I have around 2 days work, my wife would like to explore the city. She would like to do half day sight seeing on these 2 days. Also in the evenings then we would like to see some places together. Also we would have the weekend for day tours. Further after Shanghai, we would be extending our stay in China for another 6 days or so. Can you suggest other places in China which we could visit - preference historical towns. We were fascinated seeing photos of Rainbow Mountains. How far are they from Shanghai. We would be covering Beijing before coming to Shanghai and would like to fly out from Shanghai. Can you suggest us the possible itinerary. Thanks

My husband and I will be touring with A&K the Mutianyu part of the wall on October 14th. We are arriving early in Beijing and are wondering if we should book a separate and additional excursion to Jiayuguan? We want to experience the wall fully. Any suggestions to visiting the wall or additional Beijing experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Christine, how long will you stay in China, please? The Jiayuguan Great Wall is far far away from Beijing. It is in Gansu Province which is about 1500km. There is no direct fligh from Beijing to Jiayuguan. You will have to transit in Xian or other city. It almost takes one day on the way. If your time permits, we would like to work out an itinerary for your reference. Besides the Mutianyu Great Wall in Beijing, we also recommend the Forbidden City, the Tain'anmen Square, Temple of Heaven, the traditional local residence Hutong, the Summer Palace, etc. For more Great Wall sections in Beijing, the wilder sections of the Great Wall such as Jinshanling Great Wall, Gubeikou Great Wall, Simatai Great Wall,  and Jiankou Great Wall are also suggested. And they are just in the suburb of Beijing, no need to fly several hours to get there.

My daughter''s boyfriend has been visiting her, staying on campus with her while he enjoys h is very first trip to America from China. I have been to Beijing once; my daughter has been to China three times now. We want to send him home with something for his parents that shows our respect for them and is somehow very special -- in addition to hosting our daughter for a month in China this past summer, they have also given us extremely honoring gifts. We do not have alot of money, but we want to give them something that shows we hold them in very, VERY high esteem ....AND that will be accepted by customs. We were thinking of giving his parents a bottle (or two) of California Wine, in a very lovely, hand-made wooden picnic box, from the California vintner that produces it. First, will California wine (we live here in CA) be an acceptable honor gift to potentially future in-laws? If not, can you suggest something better? And second, according to some online information, up to two bottles of wine can be brought from the U.S. into China, for personal use (which clearly, this is). I will be sincerely grateful for any advice or suggestions you have. Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Judith, regarding to whether the parents of your daughter's boyfriend would like the California Wine, please ask for your daughter's boyfriend. For the customs, passengers may bring duty-free into the country 1,500 ml. of alcoholic drinks (with alcohol content of 12% or above) for personal use, which exceed the duty-free limit, shall be released subject to payment of Customs duty.

Dear Syerra, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes we can proved a private vehicle for the itinerary you mentioned. But I suggest that you hire a tour guide together with the vehicle as drivers can't speak English. Are you going to hiking on the Great Wall? If so, a tour guide is very necessary as some section of the Great Wall are wild, people easily get lost or meet dangerous there. May I know your visiting time and your detailed plan about the Great Wall? I'd like to send you a detailed quotation. Kind Regards Doris
