We live in Chongqing but would like to have a complete tour of the town and also go on the Yangtze cruise. What type of tour do you have available us, if any?

Hi Jacki,

The easiest way from Chongqing to Chengdu we suggest is first take a private transfer to Chongqing pier to Chongqing train station, $ 30 per person( based on 2 persons), then take a bullet train from Chongqing to Chengdu, the first seat price is CNY 117, excluding the service fee.

If you need, I would like to tailor a Yangtze cruise with Chengdu tour for you. If anything, please contact me at coco@chinahighlights.net

Regards,

Coco

As my husband and I dislike cruises in general,is there any way we could view the Three Gorges from hilltop towns along the Yangtze? Instead of the 3 day Yangtze cruises, would it be interesting to sail the Yangtze by hydrofoil stopping in small interesting towns along the way which would enable us to see the Little Three gorges? Could you devise a trip for us by road and/or hydrofoil(2 days max) on the Yangtze ending in Yichang and a tour of the dam. We would like to fly to Shanghai or Beijing from Yichang.

We would also like a few days in Chongqing before the yangtze expedition.could you p;ease also design a tour that takes in the Dazu grottos, Chang Jiang Yi Road escalator, Huguang guildhall, Ciqikou ancien town,Three gorges Museum and last but not least, the Wulong Nature reserves. I suppose two days in chongqing and two in the Wulong area would be sufficient.

please could you also let me know if the scenery along one of the tributaries of the Yangtze in the Wulong/Pengshui/Qianjiang area actually rivals that of the Three gorges. We like beautiful scenery and if you advise that it is worthwhile visiting the area (Qianjiang to Wulong) for the river view, we could add another day or two for our tour. Thank you in advance for your help.

On the 4 day cruise from Chongqing to YIchang do you go throug the Locks on the Gorges

Dorethe, following the itinerary, the cruise will spend 4-5 hours to pass the Locks at Yangtze Dam at Yichang, but also cruise company would adjust the arrangement according to the goverment instruction or weather condition. For example, from the middle of July, due to the flood, all of the Yangtze Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang only can berth at Miaoping pier, they will not pass the locks. Cruise company will organise the coach visit to the Dam and drop off all passengers in Yichang city.

Hi Tor, it is very far from Chongqing to Golmud. You can take train from Chongqing North Railway Station. The duration is about 31.5hrs. And the price for soft sleeper is CNY 721-754.

You can also take fights there, which is much faster.
