Hello Is there any direct bus from Fenghuang to Sanjiang

Mia Yang (Aug. 3, 2010) replied:
Hello. There is no direct bus between Fenghuang and Sanjiang. You can first get to Guilin, then transfer to bus or train to Sanjiang, which is about 5 hours. Or you can take a train from Jishou City (吉首), which is about 1 hour by bus from Fenghuang, then from Jishou you can take a train to Sanjiang, the train ride takes about 6 hours (Train 1473 or Train 2011). Be prepared that these trains are not good and clean, and they stop frequently at small stations along the way. How much cost a taxi from airport to Guilin hotels?

Asked by Ana on Jul. 21, 2010
Bookmark
Mia Yang (Jul. 21, 2010) replied:
It depends on the location of your hotel. Usually from the airport to the city center of Guilin, it takes about 80 yuan. You can have your hotel's name and address written down or printed on a piece of paper to show the taxi driver where you want to go. There are also airport shuttle buses available at the airport, and the price is 20 yuan. The shuttle bus stops at Aviation Hotel (民航大厦), and can get off there and take a taxi to your hotel, which is cheaper than taking a taxi all the way, but more hassle.

Hello Ana, My name is Lee, this is my pleasure to assist with your China tour. I would like to recommend you buy the Li River Cruise ticket in advance, it takes about CNY300 (US$45) per person for the cruise (including lunch), the cruise is about 5 hours, it is the only legal Li River Cruise that operates by government, other cruises that operate by private companies last only 1~2hours and use raft.

I would like to know the prices of a taxi from Guilin to Longsheng and stopping in Sianjang 1 hour or two. Thanks

Autumn, Longsheng is about 90 kilometers far from Guilin, and taxi drivers probably are reluctant to take you there regarding the long distance and road condition. It is not that the road is bad but that it happens that the road would be closed in rainy days for safety concerns. I advisor you take a tour, which will save you lots of hassle.
Mia Yang (Jul. 19, 2010) replied:
Hello Ana, Longsheng and Sanjiang are a bit far from Guilin, Guilin-Longsheng takes about 3 hours, Longsheng-Sanjiang takes about 2 hours, then it takes about 4 hours to go from Sanjiang back to Guilin. It is impossible to visit them all within 1 day. Therefore, it is suggested that you stay one night in Longsheng, and continue the trip the next day. If you need any tour services in these places or any other parts of China, please feel free to send us an email to service@chinahighlights.com with your tour inquiries, our professional travel advisors will reply to you within 1 working day.

Hi, I want to buy tickets (Train or Bus) to Guilin from Shenzhen. Can it be done at the station in Luo hu? Any suggestions? How safe the bus journey will be?

Lynn Ye (Jul. 20, 2010) replied:
1. You can take Train T38 or Train T39 in Luohu Train Station. Everyday, time for departing is 5:51 p.m., and arriving at Guilin 06:42 a.m. the next morning. 2.You also can take a bus in Luohu qiaoshe Station (罗湖侨社汽车站), the bus with air-conditioner sleepers sets off at 07:30p.m.everyday; there are more buses Yinhu Station which can meet different departure times. About safety, as the saying goes “Caution is the parent of safety”. Generally speaking, buying a ticket in the station and take a bus belonging to a formal passenger depot, it would be all right.
Michael Hu (Jul. 20, 2010) replied:
Yes, you can buy the train tickets from Shenzhen to Guilin at Shenzhen Luohu Railway Station. You also can buy it from our website: http://www.chinatravel.com/china-travel-tools/china-trains/. We do not recommend the bus journey to you. Because that's for domestic tourists, and the train journey would be more comfortable and safer.

Sunny Xie (Jul. 5, 2010) replied:
According to Wikipedia, the history of Chinese cuisine in China traced back to Peking Man and his use of fire and the invention of "cuisine" some 400,000 years ago. Some other accounts of the history of Chinese cuisine takes the beginning to the Chinese stone age, where the cultivation of rice and the production of noodles, both typical representations of Chinese cuisine as we have known today, are understood from archaeological findings. There are eight styles of distinct regional cooking in China. Of them, the most influential and representative ones are the culinary styles of Lu, Chuan, Yue, Min, Su, Zhe, Xiang and Hui. Each culinary style is inseparable from its long history and influenced by geography, climate, resources, specialties and dining habits of each area. Some descriptions of the eight culinary schools are: the cuisines of Jiangsu and Zhejiang have been compared to delicate beauties of the Yangtze River Delta; those of Shandong and Anhui have been compared to simple but sturdy men of the north; those of Guangdong and Fujian are compared to elegant nobles; those of Sichuan and Hunan are likened to people with substantial and varied accomplishments. The cooking techniques of each of the Chinese culinary schools are unique and the dishes have their own distinguished characteristics.
