FAQ on Harbin

Hi Mike, this trip is feasible. However, I suggest that you change for another time to travel. Because February 9- 13 is the beginning of the Spring Festival in China, the train tickets are not easy to obtain.

Yabuli is a small town with few trains available, and there is no train available for Guangzhou (Guangzhou or Shenzhen) to Yabuli. You could take train from Guangzhou to Harbin which is most convenience connection, which takes 38 hours if T236 train ticket is available otherwise K1123 takes more than 48 hours, then connect with train from Harbin to Yabuli that takes 3-4.5 hours.

It could be a very long drive on the train, especially that sleeper tickets are difficult to obtain during Jan and Feb (winter vacation and Chinese New Year). I suggest that you could take flight to Harbin first, and then transfer/train to Harbin.

Hi Stacey, you can take Airport Shuttle Bus Line 3, get off at Xinyang Rd., then you get to Daoli District. The shuttle bus is available from 6:30 to16:30, every 40mins.  It is easy to find.

Hi Sam, yes, quite true. Beijing and Harbin are the most popular cities for ski resorts and ice & snow festival. While Hainan is the warmest place during winter in China. Besides, there are beautiful sea and beaches.

There is no direct flight from Singapore to Harbin. You could take a flight to Beijing at first, then take a train or a flgiht to Harbin.

Hi Cindy, it depends on the weather condition.  Usually the snow melts in late February. If the cold weather lasts to early March, then it is possible to see the Ice and Snow Festival on 5th March.
