I am planning a trip with my family in mid April 2014. Please advise what should we expect since there will not be any snow then. How is the average temperature like?

The ice sculpture usually end are later feburary or early March according to the weather. If you are lucky enough, you may still see ice sculpture when you are there.

Dear Eil, It is OK to visit Chengdu, Xian and Harbin in winter time. However, the best time to visit Inner Mongolia is the summer time (May to September). If your tour dates are available during that time,we glad to tailor-made a private tour covering these cities for you. Nancy

Hi I would like to check if there is still ice sculpture in early March 2014? and how will be the weather? and will it still snow in march? thank you!

  Dear Josh, There is no exact day when the festival ends. It depends on the weather. If you are luck and the weather still cold in early March, you still will enjoy the snow view at that time. Good luck.

Hi, My question is similar to Johns. I would like to go to Harbin but before January. The best time for me would be in mid of december or maybe between Christmas and new years eve. The official opening is suppose to be on the 5th of January but will I be able to go in and see the sculptures anyway?

But you can visit the Ice and Snow World which is a major attraction of Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival from Dec. 25. I will be traveling to Beijing on Dec. 27, 2013 and would like to go to Harbin on the 28th for one night and return to Beijing late on the 29th. My question is...will there be any of the ice sculptures and other parts of the upcoming festival open yet and will they be lit up at night?

Hi John, the ice and snow festival in Harbin is schedule to be open from Jan. 5th. So i am sure you will be able to see the ice sculptures during your stay. But wish you good luck.

Hello. I plan on going to china in late feburary. But different locations. Is this package possible? I want to see the great wall and I want to experience the lantern festival they have every year. While I''m there, I would obviously want to participate in the harbin festival as well. Thanks in advance

Hi, i will be arriving in harbin in 13/12/13 and leaving by 18/12/13. Will iget to see the ice and snow festival in habin. Am i too early for the festival? Tks helen

 Hi Helen, The Snow Festival is from 5th Jan to 25th Feb. It is more beautiful at night while the entrance fee is more expensive accordingly. If you prefer to there, you can consider changing your travel time. Hi all, i will be going to harbin from 21-29 dec. It is ice festival ready by then? Secondly, is the usual winter jacket for europe (-10-15C) sufficient for harbin''s weather? what about a casual leather boots? What must i get and how much $ i need to prepare for a complete set? Lastly, i read that such weather may damage cameras. Are there any advice on how to protect my camera? Many thanks

The Harbin Ice festival will be opened from January 5th to the end of the Feb,. the weathere is between -4℃ to - 26 ℃, it is better to wear very warm coat, gloves ,boots and hats. it will be quite necessary to bring  a warm cover for your Camera.
