When exactely is the Ice Festival in Harbin? We would like to go, but I think it lies outside our holiday times. Can you let me know the dates for 2013 and also the Chinese New Year dates for 2013? Thank you!

I want to travel by train to Harbin from Shenyang. How much is the fare and where is the train station? How long the journey takes? Will it be taking express bus faster and safer than train? Thanks

Dear Kong YT, There are so many trains between Shenyang and Harbin. If you take a bullet train, it will take about 4 hours and it costs about $30 per person. You can take a train at Shenyang north station which is at No.102 Beizhan Road. It is about 560km from Shenyang to Harbin. It takes about 4-5 hours by bus. It costs about $15 per person. Gnerally speaking, we don't suggest our clients take a long distance bus. It is safer and convenient to take a train than to take a bus. Dear E Clarke, You can see the ice and snow festival at The Ice and Snow World which is located at the north bank of the Songhua River. including the main performances and highlights. In general, you can spend half day to visit it. It's about 10 km from the train station to the scenic spot. it's easy to take a taxi to get there. It takes about 30 minutes and it costs abou CNY50(US$8) per car.
