There is no bus can be taken. As it's not far from your school, you can take a taxi, it costs about CNY8(US$1.3). You can print the Chinese address on the paper and show it to the driver. He will know where you would like to go.

I will be travelling to Harbin in around Oct and planning to stay for 2-3 days on private business, I am looking for a local tour guide that can take me around. I can speak both Mandarin and English. Can you provide some information about the cost of a tour guide per day?

Hi Patrick Wong, As it is not an ideal time to visit Harbin in October, there are few things to see. But Central Street, Siberian Tiger Park and The Jile Temple could kill some time. The guide charges CNY500-600 per day, no matter English speaking or Mandarin. If you need a guide please feel free to contact me: william@chinahighlights.net William Huo Travel Advisor

Hi, You should apply for a Tibet permit before leaving to Tibet. Travel permits are issued by Tibet Tourism Administration. Applications require a copy of passport and Chinese visa, together with other information such as your occupation. The copy must be legible. Permits will be refused by Tibet Tourism Administration if the copy is illegible. The Tibet Tourism Administration reserves the right to refuse a permit to anyone persons in particular occupations e.g. journalists and those they suspect may have political motivations. Multi-entry travel Permits are not available. Your travel advisor will handle all aspects of obtaining your Tibet Permit. Travel to places other than those specified on the application is forbidden. The entry city to Tibet must agree with the city shown in the permit that has been issued. Differences in any detail will result in non-allowance of entry to Tibet. The Chinese government also requires that any tourist going to Tibet have to travel in group, and required to enter and leave Tibet in the same group. We can apply for the permit for you if you book a Tibet tour with us. There are some tours on our website for reference. Dear Janet Cerasi, We haven’t received the exact information from the Weather Forecast Bureau. Based on the former data, the temperature is about 10-15°C. It’s not very cold. You can take your coat and a sweater. Beijing and Shanghai are good places for shopping. If you don’t take suitable clothes, it’s still convenient to purchase the clothes. You can get the newest information on this website before leave for Beijing and Shanghai.
